You are all subject to my boredom!

Yup yup, because I'm bored and unemployed I'm spamming your Flists again with random doll stuff you don't care about.

My husband is not a doll person by any stretch of the imagination, but yesterday I asked if he would help me build a dollhouse in the future, when we have the space and money. To my great amazement, he said yes. Being all inspired I, of course, had to start planning that dollhouse the very same day. The result is this craptacular pile of scribbling that I now bestow upon you all.

The top floor is the kitchen and the living room, common space of course. I consider the colors temporary- but they look pretty for now.

The bottom floor is all bedrooms. First the girls' room for two Pullips and a Dal, then the boys' room for two Taeyangs, then a third tiny bedroom for a third Pullip- She gets her own room because she's a major bibliophile and her books take up most of her space. There is also a place allowed for storage, mostly of clothing and accessories for the dolls that live in the house.

Being that it will be multiple years before I ever get a dollhouse, the design is of course subject to change. But with the ideal doll family I have in my head right now, this works out perfectly. Although I'm already thinking that I need another floor so that they can have a bathroom if nothing else. We'll see.

Yup yup, as I've had a bit more energy (but still no job :( ) I've had time to snap a few quick pictures of Flare around the house, just for fun. I spend a little time with her each day, it feels good for me.

Our first photoshoot was last night in the kitchen, because I had nothing to do but wait for the potatoes to boil. That can take a while, you know.

I'm a kitchen hero! (Note the balancing again? I love those shoes!)

More kitchen fun under cut! )

We also got to have a little mini-shoot after the hubby and I put up the Christmas tree today. We didn't have any ornament hooks, so we haven't finished decorating- I made it a positive by posing Flare in the tree when she couldn't knock any ornaments down.

Whoa! This is a bit prickly!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree! )

Well folks, ponies are on hold for various reasons in my life. I've had to halt customizing due to health issues, and I haven't gotten any new ones due to money issues (related to the health issues). I'll spare you all the long story, at least for now.

What I do have, though, is a Pullip. I paid for her just before all this insanity happened, and she arrived on a day that I needed a lift, so she's been my little bright spot. We're still getting to know each other so she's going through some changes. Just today I straightened her hair. While that dries, I figure I'll post a few pictures of her with her hair still curly. They also will show off some of the things I made for her myself!

Forgive the poor quality of some of the pictures. I've heard it's better to take pictures without the flash, but my camera takes blurry pictures when I turn off the flash... and of course, when I leave the flash on, the picture can look odd. I'm figuring it out, I think. ^^;

Anywho, meet Flare!

Look, she's standing on her own! I balanced her thanks to her over-sized shoes. I made her shirt and her socks; the skirt is Barbie; the shoes I bought on eBay.

More pictures! )

I hope you all enjoyed getting to meet Flare a little bit!

The Sock-Sweater Story

Something a little off the pony track today. I felt the need to pass this on through as many channels as I could.

It is amazing what times God can speak to you, and why, and how.

In our walk, we ask many questions about the Lord’s love: Why does God love me? How can God love me, after all the sins I have committed? How does God have so much love in him?

God answered these questions quite simply for me tonight, in a manner which I would not have expected, and as clearly as he spoke to me on the subject he told me also to pass it on as loudly as possible, to everyone that I could. So here it is and may it touch you like it did me.

I am an artist of many types so I have experimented with many different materials. However, for some time now I have loved re-purposing older materials, whether restoring or changing completely. I also love socks, for some odd reason, and the brighter the socks, the better. I had a pair of rainbow striped toe socks that were absolutely one of my favorites. However, they didn’t have a very long life. After just a few wears they got a hole. I stubbornly wore them with the hole a few times anyway, and they stayed in my sock drawer, clean and waiting. But tonight when working on a wardrobe for a new collectible doll that’s in the mail, I knew those socks had a new calling. I shall regale you with the tale of that little inspiration another time.

I was a little sad after I first cut into the socks, knowing that I could never wear them again. There was the underlying fear that my idea wouldn’t work out, that I would be left with just a pair of socks ruined for nothing. But slowly the new creation began to take form; as I turned and tested, and found that it worked and held, I felt the thrill of success.

It was in this moment that I heard, clearly, the voice of God. He said to me that this was just like His love. I loved those socks as they were; I was convinced that I had loved them before I had them, they were exactly what I had been looking for. God truly does love us before we come into physical being, He knows us intimately and we are always just what He intended. However, it doesn’t take long for us to be out in the world and to be worn and battered. No matter what holes the world puts in us, God’s love will endure, never-ending.

There will come a day, though, when God will call upon us to be something more. Despite how much He loves us, that does not make Him blind to our imperfections. He has a greater plan for us. If we accept, He will take us and make us something more. It is sometimes frightening to hear that call because we love what we have become, much like I loved those socks and was afraid to make the first cut, but with trust everything turned out right, as it always will with God. This is Salvation; accepting God to make you more than what you once were, His plan, not your own.

Now, anyone knows that even after salvation we are capable of sin, and we will sin. But God loves us because we are made new in the image He desired. As an artist, I can see when my creation is imperfect, when it is less than that of another artist; but if it turns out just as I planned, and sometimes even when it doesn’t, nothing can stop me from loving it. In the same way, after salvation God can forgive us if we sin, because we have already been re-made in the way that He wants.

You are God’s most precious creation. Allow Him to make and mold you not once, but twice: once that He may love you as you are, as an artist still loves their childhood drawings; a second time so that He may make his improvements and make you worthy of His heavenly gallery, something He will be proud to show.

This is the message and encouragement I was given for today; I hope it has touched at least one other as much as it did me. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you see fit, whether they be Christian or someone who hasn’t accepted God’s path. -JJ

The holidays are arriving and I spotted this on [info]farashaserval's LJ. I thought it looked like fun. Who knows what will happen, but I love wishing!

Step One

*** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

*** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

*** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!

Step Two

*** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

*** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

*** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

LJ cut, list inside. <3 )

Add your list, my friends! I might be able to grant some of your holiday wishes.

If anyone wants to grant a wish of mine you can get ask for my address by emailing me at iluvchoclut at hotmail dot com.

I was hoping to have some more good stuff for you this week, but I've been slightly lacking in time and supplies. For today I'm going to try to sate you a short meet the herd (we're getting close to done, though!) and a short update on Medley and Steamer's progress at Dream Castle.

Meet the herd! )

And here's what's up at the rather messy Dream Castle- it's a bit quiet but busy busy busy!

Painting, painting... )

The paint on Steamer's brush was actually wet at the time and I almost smacked him in the face with it on accident! That would have been really traumatic, poor Steamer with a big gray blob on his face.

Let's begin the story, shall we?

Yes, you have begun meeting the herd, but there is far more than just stale family pictures in this lively household. Ponies, like people, have personalities, jobs, and even hobbies. Some of them might surprise you!

So, today you'll be learning a little bit about some of the ponies and the jobs they perform. For your pony pleasure, there is a bit of extra "meet the herd" at the end to make sure you know who we're talking about today.

Remodeling Dream Castle )

Well, we've met a couple of new ponies today, so I think it's time for a little more "Meet the Herd". We've also started introducing some of the ponies' jobs, but we have still more professionals too!

Hi there! My name is Cherry, and this is the LiveJournal all for my pony herd. You'll get to meet the members of my herd, and learn a little about me!

At this point I'm not planning on having a photo comic, though some of the posts in which you meet my herd might be in a comic-like style.
